Derek Smith was born in Glasgow and, following nearly 20 years in the I.T. industry in London, he and his wife moved to Benbecula in 2000.

Relocating to the Uists has afforded Derek the opportunity to pursue photography on a professional basis and he has concentrated on recording the landscapes and seascapes of the Hebrides. The images presented here are a small selection of his work to date.

Derek is keen to take on commissions from those with a special interest in the Uists.

Derek's next project will focus on producing photographs of the Uibhisteach, the people of the Uists.
