Although such "fantasy play" is common in childhood, my son's
preoccupation with the themes that they involve raises a startling
concern about the nature of the next generation. That they may come to
accept hostility, war and murder casually.
During the five years I worked on this project, I tried to understand how we grow and change. There was no better way to ponder this than to watch my son grow, and to be with him, over the years, with my camera, when it mattered most.
